Turn an EPUB into your own audiobook
Drop in a DRM-free EPUB and VoiceForge reads it chapter by chapter, in the order the book itself defines, and hands it to a neural voice. You get a single MP3 with a pause at every chapter break — free, without an account.
How it works
- 1
Drop in your EPUB
Chapters are read in the book's own reading order, taken from its spine — not alphabetically, which would put chapter 10 before chapter 2. Covers and title pages are skipped.

Check the text
Everything lands in the editor with a pause already placed between chapters. Trim front matter, cut a chapter you don't want, or generate just one section at a time.
- 3
Download the audiobook
Generate once for a single MP3 of the whole thing, plus SRT and WebVTT subtitles timed to the word.
Questions
- Is my book uploaded anywhere?
- No. The EPUB is unpacked and read inside your browser, so the file itself never leaves your device. Only the text you choose to generate is sent to be spoken.
- Are the chapters in the right order?
- Yes. The order comes from the book's spine — the reading order its own publisher defined — rather than from filenames, which frequently sort wrongly.
- What is the pause between chapters?
- A [pause 1.5s] marker is inserted at each chapter break so the audio has a beat between them. It is ordinary text in the editor, so you can change the length or delete it.
- Can it handle DRM-protected books?
- No. Books bought from most stores are encrypted, and there is nothing readable inside them. This works with DRM-free EPUBs — your own writing, public-domain titles, or anything sold without protection.
- How long can the book be?
- There is no page limit, but a full novel is hours of audio and will take a long time to render in one go. Generating a few chapters at a time is usually more practical.
