Reach it faster than a bookmark

Four ways to get text into the studio without opening the site first, and one badge for people who want to credit it. None of them installs anything that watches you.

Bookmarklet — send the page you are reading

Drag the code below into a bookmark, or make a new bookmark and paste it as the address. Click it on any article and the reader opens with that page already loading — no extension, no permissions, nothing running until you press it.

Bookmarklet

javascript:(function(){window.open('https://www.readanytext.com/url-to-speech?src='+encodeURIComponent(location.href),'_blank')})()

Some browsers strip javascript: when you paste it. If the bookmark does nothing, re-open it for editing and check the prefix survived.

Install it — home screen and share sheet

In Chrome or Edge, use Install app from the address bar or menu. On iPhone, use Share → Add to Home Screen. You get an icon that opens the studio directly, and on Android ReadAnyText becomes a destination in the share sheet — so selected text or a link from any app can be sent straight here.

There is no offline mode, and there deliberately is not one: the voices live on someone else’s servers, so an app that opened without a connection could not generate anything.

Badge — credit it if you want to

There is no watermark in the audio and no attribution requirement. If you would like to credit the tool anyway, this is a plain image and a plain link: no script, no iframe, no cookie, no pixel.

Questions

Does the bookmarklet send my browsing anywhere?
Only when you click it, and only the address of the page you are on. It opens a new tab pointing at the article reader with that URL attached; nothing runs in the background and nothing is recorded about pages you do not send.
Why a bookmarklet rather than an extension?
A bookmarklet is a link in your bookmarks bar. It needs no install, no permissions, no store review and no ability to read pages you did not choose. An extension would be more convenient and would need far more trust; if one is built, it will be in addition to this rather than instead of it.
Does the badge track my visitors?
No. It is a plain image and a plain link - no script, no iframe, no cookie, no pixel. It cannot see who viewed your page, and adding it tells us nothing until someone actually clicks through.
Do I have to display the badge?
No. There is no watermark in the audio and no attribution requirement. The badge exists for people who want to credit the tool, not as a condition of using it.
What does installing actually give me?
An icon on your home screen or in your app list that opens the studio directly, without a browser tab to find first. On Android it also makes the app a destination in the share sheet. There is no offline mode - speech synthesis needs the network.
