Terms of service
Last updated 10 October 2026
The short version: ReadAnyText turns text into spoken audio, the free plan is the whole studio with limits, paid plans and packs raise those limits, Creem handles every payment as the seller of record, and you can cancel at any time.
Who provides the service
ReadAnyText is operated by Tharusha Kulasinghe. These terms are an agreement between you and Tharusha Kulasinghe about using the website and the studio. By creating an account or buying a plan you accept them.
What the service does
The studio reads text aloud with synthetic voices and lets you download the result with captions. Speech is produced by a third-party neural voice service; the catalogue of voices, and the service behind it, can change. Documents you import are read inside your browser, and your text is sent to the voice service only to be spoken. The privacy policy describes what is and is not stored.
Accounts
Generating audio needs an account, with Google or with an email address and password. Keep your sign-in to yourself; what happens under your account is your responsibility. One person, one account: the allowance and credits are per account, and opening several to multiply them is not allowed. You can delete your account from the dashboard, which removes your profile, your settings and any listen links you published.
The free plan
The free plan includes every voice and every export, with a limit on how much one render may use, a short wait once that is used up, a monthly pool of credits, and listen links that expire after a few days. The current figures are on the pricing page. We may adjust them; the pricing page is always the current statement.
Paid plans and credit packs
Plus and Pro are subscriptions that raise the per-render limit, the monthly credit pool and how long listen links stay up. Credit packs are bought once, add credits on top of your monthly pool, and expire on the date stated when you buy them; unused credits lapse then. One credit is one character sent to the voice. Previews, failed renders and transcription are never charged. What each plan and pack includes is stated on the pricing page at the time of purchase, and that statement is what you are buying.
Payments
Purchases are processed by Creem, our payment provider, which acts as the seller of record: Creem charges your card, applies any tax your location requires, issues the receipt and handles chargebacks. Prices are shown in US dollars; tax, where it applies, is added at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, monthly or yearly, until cancelled. If we change the price of a plan you are on, we tell you before the renewal it applies to.
Changing or cancelling a plan
You can switch between plans at any time from the pricing page. The change is immediate in both directions: moving to a bigger plan or a yearly term is charged for the remainder of the current period at once and starts a new period; moving to a smaller plan or a monthly term refunds the unused part of the current period to your card.
You can cancel a subscription at any time from your dashboard, or from the billing portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then your account returns to the free plan. Nothing you made is removed, and your settings and favourites stay as they were.
Refunds
If you bought a plan or a pack and have not used it, tell us within 14 days and it is refunded in full. If a renewal was charged that you did not intend, tell us within 7 days of the charge and, as long as the renewed period has not been used, it is refunded. Beyond that, refunds are decided case by case; write to us and explain what happened. A refund ends the plan or removes the remaining pack credits it paid for.
Acceptable use
Use the service lawfully and considerately. Do not use it to produce audio that harasses, threatens or defames anyone, that presents a synthetic voice as a specific real person without their consent, that infringes somebody else’s rights, or that breaks the law where you are. Do not try to get around the limits, probe or overload the service, or resell access to it. We may suspend or close an account that does any of this.
Your content
Your text stays yours, and so does the audio made from it. We claim no rights over either. You are responsible for having the right to use the text you convert.
Availability and changes
The service is provided as it is, and we work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Features, voices and limits may change. If a change makes a paid plan materially worse, you can cancel and ask for the unused part of the period to be refunded.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Tharusha Kulasinghe is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law gives you as a consumer and does not let you waive.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, and we will say why.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without affecting any consumer protections you have where you live.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. For a change that affects a paid plan, we tell subscribers before it takes effect.
